Room 5

March 19, 2020

Hi Room 5 Families!

What a week!  Besides connecting and checking in with kids, I have been getting them ready to be away from each other for 3 weeks, and we have been developing plans to help us get through this time.  Students should have 2 novels to read, and are coming home with a package of SS, Math, French, and PE expectations.  Here is an attachment with the expectations and schedule checklist for kids and parents to have.

I will create a schedule to check in with kids via phone or messages through teams or email, and can be available to chat at anytime during the day (9-3:30).  I will be splitting my time between school and home, so the best way to get ahold of me is primarily through email ( or kids chatting on Teams. However you might try the school if it is urgent at 204-324-8206.  Many of us are also friends on Facebook and you are more than welcome to message me through Messenger.

I am thankful to have this group of kids and parents who are supportive and understanding as we navigate these crazy (unimaginable) times.  Things are changing by the hour in our world, and we are all rolling with it and adjusting as best we can.  Room 5 felt a bit unsettled on Monday (first thing), but has been quite calm and collected for the rest of the week.  We’ve spent time finishing up our Science Inquiry projects, Romeo and Juliet unit, and working on Essential Outcomes in Math.  This week offered us opportunity to clean our lockers and sanitize EVERYTHING several times a day (not a bad thing!).

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, I’m here for you!

Wishing everyone a great last day tomorrow (for three weeks).  Hoping everyone stays healthy and strong and we take this given time to connect with our families, play games, clean, learn new things (like cooking or knitting!), and watch some oldie movies!

Kindest Regards-

Sarah Friesen-Maguet
